  What a fabulous conference! Those in attendance have had numerous OPPORTUNITIES to learn, to be inspired, and to remember how important teachers are to their students and their communities.   We were reminded: ·        that we make CONTRIBUTIONS through our faith in our students and co-workers ·        t hat when we trust our students to focus and learn, they will in turn trust us. ·        that our generous donations to the Emergency Fund CONTRIBUTE to the well-being of DKG sisters who have experienced a natural disaster ( Yesterday we donated $5,444 to the Emergency Fund!) ·        that our trust in ourselves will inspire us to take on new roles that strengthen us as individuals and as educators—and will strengthen DKG.   The keynote speakers, the workshop presenters, our colleagues at tables and meetings—all have had an IMPACT on us. You can donate any time on the DKG website—and donations are tax deductible. Have you visited the Mt. Hood Room on the 2 nd floor? If not, then take time between events to visit the Art Gallery .   You will find tables and easels showing off the artistic talent of DKG members—photos, paintings, quilting, stitchery, crafts, and more await you.   Shop! Chapter paraphernalia or member pins and badges; note cards, pens, and pencils; T-shirts, fleece jackets, visors, and official DKG jewelry are just some of the choices. Some items are available on-the-spot; others need to be ordered. Vendors are eager to sell their wares. How about a “mug rug”? a “garbage bag” (much too pretty for that name) for your car?     Saturday features keynote speakers—Dr. Gene Sharratt at General Session 3 and President Becky Sadowski at the banquet. ...

Welcome! Welcome! As the world and DKG emerge from the pandemic, it is so refreshing to meet and interact in person. Barb Clausen, Northwest Regional Director, and Janis Barr, Southwest Regional Director, and their crew of volunteer worker bees have prepared a wonderful conference for you. We're so very glad that you are with us in Portland, and we are sure that you will enjoy the inspiring speakers and informative workshops. Stop to say "Hello!" and enjoy the fun!

WELCOME! The Portland Marriott Waterfront Downtown has been buzzing! The steering committees for the conference in Portland polished final plans, and YOU were on your way here. TUESDAY WAS FOR TOURS, TRIPS, AND TOURIST FUN! Members who wished to see some of the Northwest were already in Portland. Tuesday was for personally arranged tours. Options included Mt. Hood, Multnomah Falls, Lewis and Clark’s expedition to Astoria, the fabulous gardens in Portland, and trips on the Willamette and Columbia Rivers. Some tried shopping: Pendleton blankets for next winter or Nike’s home store. Couldn’t do a tour? Talk to those who did; ask how much fun they had, then stay and do a tour yourself.
