What a fabulous conference! Those in attendance have had
numerous OPPORTUNITIES to learn, to be inspired, and to remember how important
teachers are to their students and their communities.
We were reminded:
·
that we make CONTRIBUTIONS through our faith in
our students and co-workers
·
that when we trust our students to focus
and learn, they will in turn trust us.
· that
our generous donations to the Emergency Fund CONTRIBUTE to the well-being of
DKG sisters who have experienced a natural disaster (Yesterday we donated
$5,444 to the Emergency Fund!)
·
that our trust in ourselves will inspire us to
take on new roles that strengthen us as individuals and as educators—and will
strengthen DKG.
The keynote speakers, the workshop presenters, our
colleagues at tables and meetings—all have had an IMPACT on us. We leave the
conference with a renewed, refreshed, and realistic belief that we can make a
difference for our students and that our students will grow and develop, making
IMPACTS in their professions, their communities, and within their families.
Yes, DKG membership provides recognition for our own
abilities, but it enables us to see OPPORTUNITIES for ourselves and our
students. DKG helps us focus on new ways
to CONTRIBUTE to our Society, our schools, our professions, and our students.
In so doing, we see new ways that further IMPACT our societies in a positive
way.
Plan now to visit New Orleans next July to add to
your repertoire of skills, positive attitudes, trust in yourself, and
willingness to maintain life-long learning and trust that you can continue to
make an IMPACT when you CONTRIBUTE your thoughts and skills in ways that
provide OPPORTUNITIES for others to grow and learn.
