What’s In Your Suitcase?

The DKG International Conference in Phoenix is less than five weeks away.  Have you started thinking about things to pack in your suitcase? Here are some items you don’t want to forget:

● BYOB - Bring Your Own Bag

The 2023 DKG conferences are not providing tote bags, so be sure to pack one to carry your daily essentials. Squeeze an extra bag into your luggage to trade with an old friend or a new acquaintance.

● Lapel Pins

It’s always fun to see the variety of DKG pins members often wear in addition to their membership pin. Lapel pins are a great discussion starter. As you talk about the various pins with another member, make this even more memorable by bringing a pin to trade or share. 

● Cash

Members at the Phoenix Conference may choose to purchase the themed table decor, donate to the DKGIEF Emergency Fund, shop at the Society Expo, and more. Digital payment is not always available, so be sure to bring some extra cash for those opportunities.

● Sunscreen

The Sheraton Grand Wild Horse Pass is surrounded by desert landscape. Phoenix, also known as the Valley of the Sun, will be hot and sunny in July. Be sure to pack sunscreen so you can enjoy the outdoor amenities without worrying about getting sunburned.

● Sweater, Jacket, or Shawl

Even though the Phoenix Conference is taking place in the heat of summer, the general meetings, breakout sessions, and Society Expo will be held in the air-conditioned resort meeting rooms. These indoor spaces may be cool, so a sweater, jacket, or shawl will keep you comfortable while attending the conference events.

● Checklist for the event

Now is the time to start planning your personal agenda during the DKG Conference in Phoenix. Look at the conference Schedule at a Glance and begin marking your calendar for meeting times, Society Expo hours, and social gatherings.
